چکیده

Abstract Terrestrial radiative cooling is an intriguing way to mitigate the accelerating demands in residential and commercial sectors by offering zero‐energy cooling. However, ultra‐white or mirror‐like appearance of coolers can be visually sterile raise safety issues when applied building facades vehicles en masse. To overcome fundamental trade‐off between color diversity performance, a radiatively integrated, conductively insulated material system proposed that exploits thermal non‐equilibrium colorants emitters. This allows such cooled below ambient temperature at all times day while exhibiting any desired exterior including black without using vacuum insulation. work experimentally demonstrates even coolers, absorbing 646 W m −2 solar power under AM1.5 conditions, cool down maximum 6.9 K (average 3.5 K) during daytime. These systems potentially used outdoor applications, especially buildings houses, where carbon‐free management high demand but colors also important for visual appeal comfort.

Radiative cooling of solar cells

Standard solar cells heat up under sunlight. The resulting increased temperature of the solar cell has adverse consequences on both its efficiency and its reliability. We introduce a general approach to radiatively lower the operating temperature of a solar cell through sky access, while maintaining its solar absorption. We first present an ideal scheme for the radiative cooling of solar cells....

Radiative Cooling, Heating and Thermal Conduction in M87

The crisis of the standard cooling flow model brought about by Chandra and XMM-Newton observations of galaxy clusters, has led to the development of several models which explore different heating processes in order to assess if they can quench the cooling flow. Among the most appealing mechanisms are thermal conduction and heating through buoyant gas deposited in the ICM by AGNs. We combine Vir...

Thermal Radiation from Cooling Neutron Stars

Observations of thermal radiation from neutron stars allow one to measure the surface temperatures and confront them with cooling scenarios. Detection of gravitationally redshifted spectral lines can yield the mass-to-radius ratio. In the few cases when the distance is known, one can measure the neutron star radius, which is particularly important to constrain the equation of state of the super...

A review of solar thermal refrigeration and cooling methods

Energy is the lifeblood of the modern world. Because of the negative environmental impacts and limited sources of fossil fuels, researchers are increasingly focusing on renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy due to its cleanliness and natural availability. Along with photovoltaic systems, solar thermal energy has been used over the last few decades to meet the refrigeration needs f...

Improvement of thermal performance of a solar chimney based on a passive solar heating system with phase-change materials

Passive solar systems such as solar chimneys need solar radiation in order to work. Therefore, they cannot present stable natural ventilation when solar energy vanishes: to have a more robust and stable condition, solar energy should be stored during the day and released back during the night. Phase change materials can save additional thermal energy during the day and release it during the...
